Just wanted to let anyone know that is car shopping about capital one auto navigator. I just used them to finance a car. The soft pull that gives you your loan amount and apr were literally spot on once they did the hard pull. I will 100% use them again. Easiest car buying process ever.
They are pretty great. Congrats on the new car!
Yep!
Super easy and fantastic terms for me.
Congrats!

I just ran their prequalify too. Pretty impressed with their offers. When it's time to pull the trigger when things settle down I'll probably go with them. I really like them as a lender overall.

Congrats on the new car and thanks for sharing. This is what I was literally just looking for.
I am pre-approved through them for up to $50k with apr's from 4-9% for the vehicles I'm interested in. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger though because of the huge difference between them and my pre-approval through Carvana for 16% apr and at 15% though IFS to refinance my current loan.
Wasn't sure if they fluff up the pre-approval just to get you into the dealership and then hit you with a higher apr after your credit application is ran.

I got the exact APR I was prequalified for (2.49% for 72 months).
Told the dealer if he runs my credit through anyone else, I will walk out.
He did not and the entire process was very simple and pleasant.
I did not even have to show POI.
GL!

Can you use this loan at any dealership?

Any dealer that works with Capital One, which is a lot of dealerships.
Yes and your pre-approval is your protection from dealer from doing the market rate song and dance.
Navigator stated apr and downpayment amount I needed (min $1000). The price dropped on the car without prompting from me and that dropped my down to a very managable level.
But I left that car as my backup as I was still arguing with dealers on new cars given the crisis even though it was just after the lockdown and the full weight of what's happening hadn't hit yet.
I tried to get something done before my pre-approval expired but I didn't. The plan b dealer not having to go with Navigator can push through anything they want, wanted over $1,000 more down now and called it justifed in doing so.
Not my first time buying a car and no wonder the market is moving toward Carvana and away from franchise dealerships. Whining about margins, making the majority of their money on services and not sales (Auto Nation).
It's been almost 30 days so I can re-apply but the cars that I have saved on Car Gurus have NOT SOLD in that time. Not from the dealers I was working with, they still have those cars. How many people want a Red/Orange car with a manual transmission when the Automatic version of the car is cheaper by $587?
Willing to put down sizable amounts of money, willing to take the hit of 1.5% higher interest and they scream about they can't go any lower.
It's a lie, I got ILL dealers, the Chicagoland area in-fact to drop the price, as they all did. Even with not paying taxes on my purchase (NV and Wash St) the price was still higher.
I even have the sales manager of Car Pros Kia in Renton, WA still emailing to some degree. Still saying she gave me the best deal, she didn't even beat Marsh in Las Vegas.
She gave me HER best deal (maybe)
RANT OVER
PS: Yes USE Cap One Navigator, even if you have bad credit, even if you discharged from BK. I was approved with a 545 TU FICO up to $25,000 though with APR I would have to put down $7500 to spend that much, so the realistic limit was around $20,000
