DCU Denial, options?

Looking to buy a used vehicle by years end, for business purposes.

Applied online with DCU this morning. Last FICO score I have is from Nov 12 and was 695. I have a 25% DTI and 10% util. I have one late on my current auto loan from 18 months ago that I've been working to get GW. Denial just said that it will come in the mail, but nothing via email or anything yet.

My curiosity is this, can I reapply and enter my wife as a co-signer? She has no income, other than our business income. But we still have her house, which is a rental, and it's in her name, so her DTI won't look great. Or do I just call to find out if I did something wrong? I didn't think I would get immediate approval, but immediate denial was surprising.

Maybe I should apply with another lender? Just trying to get the loan squared away so when the right car comes a long I will be ready to go.

Any commentary would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: DCU Denial, options?

I would chill out until you confirm the reason for decline and see if you can appeal for reconsideration.

They could have declined you over an ID issue or something.  Don't take any more HP's with them until you know their reasons.

Re: DCU Denial, options?

So I woke up this morning to find an email from DCU last night that says "congrats on your approval for an auto loan, we just need additional documents..." Purchase agreement for the car and my most recent pay stub.

Is that normal to receive a denial, and then an approval email, without any intervention by me?

Re: DCU Denial, options?

Doesnt seem 'normal' to me -

But I would just run with the approval and try to play it all the way through.

I wouldnt bring up the denial unless they do.

It still counts as a basket if it hits the rim and rolls around, as long as it goes through the net.
