Re: DCU-Denied :(

Sorry OP that it didn't work out for you with DCU. It seems they are very finicky(sp?) with their approvals on their products. Just a little background on me...I had an auto loan through Cap One back in 2005 and had perfect payment history for 2yrs at which time I traded in my car and got an Acura. I had negative equity and my new loan was through American Honda. Now unfortunately my payment history through them was horrible and ended up in a repo in 2013 (6 mos shy of total payoff). In May 2015, I applied for an auto loan through Cap One again and was approved for up to 35k at 6.55% which I thought was good for my scores. I made 1 payment to Cap One in June. On 7/2/15 I pulled my scores from here and saw my Eq 04 was 688. I applied for refinance through DCU the same day and rec'd a phone call the next day to finalize my loan. Super easy and fast. Now this is with a total of 8 late payments up to 120 days on my student loans, a HORRIBLE payment history and repo on an auto loan and 3 paid judgements. Also, I had applied for new credit at that time however the accounts were not reporting yet. So I think it really is a hit or miss with them. HTH

Re: DCU-Denied :(

Sorry to hear about that. I highly recommend not using DCU.  Why do so many people recommend that bank for autoloans? What gives? By the way, best of luck.

Re: DCU-Denied :(

Atonswife, just curious how you were able to get such a low interest rate with capital one for your auto loan. I'm in the same boat as you having a prior repo a little over a year old because I thought it was paid off but still owed a balance. Car was redeemed and paid off immediately. I'm assuming your auto enhanced scores were pretty bad. What were your scores when your scores when you got your capital one loan if you don't mind me asking?
