I trade-in a car to a dealership (big Toyota dealership). I month later I got a call from Toyota finance that I'm late on payments. Called dealer and they said that bank did not approved the deal yet (a month later!!!). My car was already sold to other person! I was frustrated. But eventually dealer made a paid off of my car. But now there are 30 and 60 day lates on my credit history. I disputed it and received the following from Transunion: "We investigated the information you disputed and updated: Balance; Date Updated; Last Payment Made; Date Closed; Remarks;Rating; Payment Received. Here is how this item appears on your credit report following our investigation.". And I still see this 30 and 60 day lates on my report. Is it possible to remove it?
This is the type of post that we see a few times a year. Someone trades in a car with a loan and for some reason or another the dealership takes time to pay off the trade. A payment or 2 are delinquent and the consumer ultimately suffers.
People need to remain vigilant and check to see if their previous auto loan indeed shows it has been paid off. You are ultimately responsible for the loan.
The holder of the previous loan is under no obligation to remove the late. You may have luck and find a kind customer service rep. Good luck.
Thanks for response. I understand that I responsible for a loan. However, I was misinformed by the dealer. Dealer bought my car and even sold it to other person while it was still financed on my name.
My TU score dropped from 791 on Dec, 2017 to 672 on Jan, 2018 due to this situation. And now, 4 month later it is still 675. My mortgage rates jump 1.2 points... I just so frustrated due to this. My history was 100% clean and healthy and now it so damaged and it is not related to my financial situation...
Should I sue dealer for this? Or it is a wasting of time?

If it's "wasting time," I can think of plenty of worse ways to waste time. Light that fool up!
I am not able to provide legal advise. However, you have certainly had financial damages related to this incident. You may want to seek legal counsel and see what they recommend.
The selling of the car without a clean title sounds wrong but since they are also holding the paperwork for the other person (on your trade) it may have been easy for them to do.
Good luck!
