Re: May have gotten in a Pickle!

Congrats SBK! We are all very proud of you & your mother! Honda pulls TU and advise your mother to keep the car she has for as long as she can and remember she is in the processing of buying a home! Tell her to take $450 per month and put it in a savings account for 6 months to a year, if she hasn't had to touch that money in a year then she knows she can afford that payment. But do keep in mind the insurance could be higher than she pays now. She will also have a nice down payment on a Honda, keep the other car out of the deal and neg a cash sale before discussing financing along with a pre approval by a CU or bank. By then she may even have a much higher score and get the preferred finance rate that is offered by Honda at that time.... good luck with the next deal!

Re: May have gotten in a Pickle!

That's a good outcome.  Returning a car after two weeks and just walking away is quite unusual.  Was there any charge for use of the car while you had it?  How many miles did your mom put on it?

Good luck with the Accord!

As of right now there are no charges, that we know of....the car had approx. 215 miles upon return maybe more.

1111Mel what she would get in writing exactly? It does seem unusual that they would just allow us return the car with no strings attached. Im kinda waiting for something to happen...just have a wierd feeling!

Lets hope not though!

Re: May have gotten in a Pickle!

Yeah, scary especially after reading horror stories about dealerships all weekend and then read this thread! I hope they don't pull any shenanigans and that it's a done deal.

Re: May have gotten in a Pickle!

Most likely they wouldn't put anything in a letter for you, but I do suggest that if you have an email address you should send him an email.  Mention returning the car to him and just pretend you are checking to make sure everything is okay.  Hopefully you can trick him into putting it in writing that he took the car back and didn't charge you anything.

Re: May have gotten in a Pickle!

UPDATE:

The salesman just recently started calling my mom this week, they are trying to sale her another car, this time its a 09 Hyundai Sonata, she is not going to be as gullable this time, she has told them everything that she wants(yes she's actually considering to buy another car) she is going to have the payment where she wants it, the interest rate, and final price of the car will be where she wants it!

We know what to expect this go around! Are we crazy or what?

Also cant we request that a dealer pull a certain CR? Seems like they would if they want a car sold, but also they want to make more off us too!

I mean if the deal is right, she may buy, also how do we negotiate invoice price and dealer holdback?

We want to do it right this time, so you guys advice has proven reliable an supportive and i value your opinions!

Thanks,
~SBK~

Re: May have gotten in a Pickle!

Update:

Got a big surprise in the mail today from Hyundai. It reads "Congratulations on your new purchase from Hyundai Motor".  Then the rest is basically a welcome package!

We have no car from as of right now from Hyundai...and we thought everything was said and done about that! Also we received two DENIAL letters from Hyundai before this letter.

What can we do?

I'll let you know what the rest of the letter says once i get it!
