I just got approvaled for a car loan through Navy Federal.
(This is my first post so forgive me if I leave off some of the important data points. )
I requested $28k and was approved for $28k with a 3.99% APR for a 72 month loan. I've had a bank account with them for a little over a year and I've had a credit card with them for a year. I did find it odd that they pulled my Transunion score since I've read that most people say NFCU pulls equifax. I was super nervous that they weren't going to approve me since I mostly do my banking with Chase so I put $500 in my Navy checking account and $800 in my Navy savings account in an attempt to show them that I do have money. I don't know if it helped any.
Thank you to everyone that has ever created a post on the forums. I've taken lots advice from you guys for the past year to rebuild my credit. My next goal is getting a mortgage approval in 3 years. I'm off to buy my first car. 😁
Fico scores: experian: 691 transunion: 695
AAoA: 4 years, 3 months
old account: 10 years
number of accounts: 11 (9 credit cards, 2 student loans)
utilization: 61%
inquiries: experian: 0/ transunion: 3
Congrats on the approval! I think they switched over to TransUnion for all credit.
Congratulations on your NFCU car loan Approval..!!!

Yes, someone mentioned that a Navy Rep. alluded to this a few weeks ago. (About switching to TU exclusively)
Thanks! I was torn between the 2021 Kia K5 and the 2020 Honda Insight. I went with the K5. 😍
