And here's the reason why. You were bucketed in the subprime bracket and it's really hard to escape that. And if that includes the other stuff you talk about in post doing it around the same time it's no wonder they were just trying to protect themselves.

Then they don't have to worry about it - I won't be darkening their doors again. Amex gave me a $4K CL which hasn't even reported yet, so their toy card just became irrelevant. Their car loan is just as irrelevant.

I would look at a local CU for the best rates.  In general CUs can beat everyone else on any car.

Are you saying, you currently have two open auto loan's? Or, two past auto loan's that are closed and were paid as agreed? In my experience, Capital One DOES NOT like multiple auto loan's for one applicant.

Both auto TLs are paid in full loans, at separate times. I have never had more than one car payment at a time.

Cap 1 has never offered me any rates that were worth talking about i checked it a few a months ago for a laugh they offered 4.87%  as others have said CU will offer better rates than them 90% of time. If u are looking for a 0% offer use a Capitive lender.

Re: Now I know why Crap1 is called Crap1

Cap 1 gave me $40k car loan at 2.49% for 72 months with no money down and no pay stubs within 5 minutes.

They also gave me $80k in unsecured credit cards.

All three of my scores only hover around 700 and were lower at car loan.

Maybe you have something on your credit report you don't know about.

They treat me like a king and I could not be more greatful.

What major credit cards and other loans do you have?

Rebuild started in 2014  -  $100k unsecured credit in 2017  -  $500k unsecured credit in 2024.

DON'T WORK FOR CREDIT CARDS ... MAKE CREDIT CARDS WORK FOR YOU!

If they found something on my credit report that I don't know about then FICO may end up being adefendant in a FCRA lawsuit because I subscribe to their service.

Other loans? A mortgage witrh no late payments ever, two paid off car loans and a Toy Card with a $500 CL. I also have an Amex with a $4K limit but it hasn't reported yet. I have no delinwuncies and all scores are in the mid 700's according to FICO8.

Don't forget that there are more than just the "big three" CRAs...  MyFICO and most other free/paid monitoring services only monitor/report on EQ/TU/EX.

Always a good idea to check your other CRA reports as well - for a decent (but incomplete) list, see:
