Subaru / Chase Approved

Hi All,

So I have been rebuilding my credit after a bunch of charge offs / settlements. My scores are slowly creeping back up (Equifax 578, Transunion 622, Experian 594).

I really needed a car / wanted to begin building back positive history on an auto loan as my Acura lease was late 6 times (I am going to try to GW these. 3 30 day lates and 3 60 day lates.)

I went to Subaru and at first they got an approval at 18% with Santander with 2k down. I just could not get myself to enter into a loan at that rate...

So I said what if I put $8,000 down. Subaru went back to chase and they approved it at 8.74% for 63 months.

I wound up getting it and am in love with my new legacy!

I did recently settle 3 Chase accounts for 30% of what I owed so I was surprised they approved it. Do you think having a Chase auto loan will help me get a credit card in a year or so? I guess I’m wondering if because I settled with Chase I am now blacklisted.

Thanks so much guys!

Re: Subaru / Chase Approved

Chase separates their departments. What happens in one doesn't affect the other. They also have different rules, so for example, if you file bankruptcy you're blacklisted from credit cards for 10 years, but only for 1 year for auto.
