My wife and I are wanting to purchase and live full time in a toy hauler fifth wheel in about a year. Our credit isn't terrible. We have somewhat higher utilization right now which we are paying down really quickly. We had a couple late payments a year ago because when our son was born he was in the NICU for over a month and we didn't really have much income that month due mostly to covid and being shut down. We do make about 105-120K a year between us and are wanting to put down 15-20K on about a 75-80K rig. Any input on the likelihood of us being able to get it done? Fico scores are mid to high 600's right now.
The only stubbling block is if you tell them you're wanting to live in it full-time. That's not desirable to FI's for some reason.....which I guess I understand the reasoning behind it. eta: insurance, county ordinances, etc
It's best to finance before that's the situation imo.
Anyway, we've run into this problem a few times with Wells Fargo, local CU, Wachovia, to name a few. Best deal we got with all of our past RV's was with our local CU though...best rate by far.
