Early yesterday morning applied for a 40k because I may trade the car that's been financed with USAA since last June for 39k, counter offer shockingly was 16k! Turns out the computer had my income down at about 1k or so, the lady was telling me I need to make my credit file more attractive, I told her nothing has changed since last June except my income increased greatly, she agreed something wasn't right
reasons for the low ball counter was of course insufficient income and two many inquires in 12 months, I'll give them the inquires but now since it was discovered the system didnt record my income correctly, they want to redo the app but with a new inquiry, well geez you said there were too many inquires so you're making it worse! still trying to convince them of not pulling a new report
Good luck with it.
If you're eligible for USAA, I would suggest you inquire with NFCU. Navy Federal's rates are consistently lower and I have found them very easy to work on 2 seperate auto loans and credit cards
