Amiashu12,
If you did not burn them in your bankruptcy, you will be able apply and possibly get approve 5 years and 1 month post bankruptcy filing date. I got back in with Amex at the 61 month mark with a BCE card, so it can be done. If you burned them, you will have to pay them before they will reconsider you for another card. Now there are threads on here and on Reddic where people got back in with Amex at the 6th/7th year mark without paying them back.
If you really want an Amex card, take a close look at the Macy Amex. It's the closest thing I've seen to a real Amex. The offers are almost the same and the Macy Amex almost has all the same benefits as the traditional Amex's in my opinion. The only difference is the card is handled by the Citi Retail division and the transactions are processed on the Amex network.
Hope this helps.

I got back in with amex. Here is a link to my post with details. I never repaid them and got back in with a 50k pay over time limit on their gold card.

That's great then. Now you get to enjoy the benefits of using Amex cards.
I filed January 2017 and was discharged April 2017. I Just took a chance and applied for an AMEX gold card recently and was approved! I burned AMEX in my BK but it was a small amount (about $300 or so) so maybe that was a factor.

Definitely a factor. Those of us with defaults up in the 5-figure range (and higher) cannot expect to get another AMEX card any time within a decade or three of our bankruptcy filing.
Regardless, congratulations on getting back in.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

You were really lucky. I included Amex with $10,600 in my BK in 2019. I guess I have a long time to go so I can get a second chance with them.

Same here. I filed for $27k on them. I am likely locked out forever lol.

You know what they say, go big or go home (FYI - I hit them for more than that...I've moved onto other banks)

They got lucky just based on timing of when things went bad. It was a business platinum card and the prior month the balance was over $100k.
I guess gotta give it a long time
