Account Not Showing IIB - Help!

Hey all

I filed Chapter 7 at the end of April and am waiting discharge any day.

All if my accounts now say IIB, except my BBVA account, which has no BK verbiage at all.

Is this something I need to start doing something about?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Give it a little more time. They may be waiting for DC status.

Re: Account Not Showing IIB - Help!

Sorry, but the status is correct.

It was charged off in 2019. It's not on their books when you filed BK. The last update was in 2019. You filed for BK after that. The credit report entry is 100% correct as of 2019.

Onlyl the junk debt buyer that currently owns the same debt on the filing date of BK has the responsiblity of reporting IIB.

If you dispute it later on the account of bankruptcy, it will probably come back as valid. But who knows... you may get lucky.

@jmw1

I'm just trying to follow what everyone on the board usually suggests.

Making sure everything that was included in bankruptcy, is notated as so on my reports. That would be the 100% accurate information.

I will wait until I am discharged before trying to get the 'IIB' included on my reports.

Re: Account Not Showing IIB - Help!

A bankruptcy discharge will not erase discharged creditors or your pre bankruptcy payment history. Accurate history can still be reported. But, and most importantly, after a bankruptcy discharge, the amount outstanding for each discharged account should be shown as zero. Any creditor showing any balance is going against the BK laws. All debts are DC'ed in BK. You can wait until DC. If it isnt gone by then. Contact your lawyer. Judges dont like that practice trying to collect after a BK.

I don't believe I've ever read any advice on looking for IIB notations prior to discharge; I know for my Chapter 13 some accounts updated during the 5-years, some did not.  As soon as the discharge was ordered, all accounts were updated within something like 5-weeks, and then over the next six or seven months, all but one account dropped entirely off my credit reports.  The lone remaining IIB account was for my (then) estranged wife's car, which never had a late payment and which was paid in full.  I'm hoping that one falls off my report next January when my Chapter 13 falls off.

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

Re: Account Not Showing IIB - Help!

I only noticed it because all of my other accounts say IIB currently with a $0 balance.

My objection to discharge was on July 2, so I should be discharged any time now.
