Cap One 3K approval 1.5 months after BK Chp 7 Discharge

Hello all, sharing my experience after a chp 7 BK discharge.

3 weeks after my discharge (discharged on 3/5/2021) i had my girlfriend add me as an AU on her BoA Spirit Mastercard, which has a balance of about 1k, with a 3k limit.

Today, as i browsed the comunity i saw several posts on Cap One giving out 3K SL just 1-2 months after a dischage, so i went for it... sure enough, i had a pre-approval letter here which i received in the mail just a few days ago (this was meant to be bcuz i normally toss all pre-approvals in the garbage), went online and applied and got approved for $3k!!!

My FICO 8 scores are still mid to high 500s right now. Ill see how this affects scores when it hits my reports...

Congrats on the approval! Which card was this for? I am assuming it was for the Platinum. I was just curious because I have seen a decent number of 3K approvals roll through for that card, vs. typically much lower for the QS/QS1.

Use it wisely and watch it grow. 

Like many of us have seen and wrote about in this forum, CapOne is one the most if not THE most forgiving lender out there.

Many of us had pre approvals before we even received the BK discharge and many report being approved the very next day after discharge.

This was my first card fresh out of BK. Approved for 3k as well the very next day after my DC.

Yeah it's a great card. I got that one a year and 8 months into my rebuild. They gave me a 0 AF secured card to start out with after my discharge. Congrats!
