Quick question about derogs on your credit file:
Filed BK7 in 6/19, discharged in 10/19.
I have a number of derogs reporting, mostly stuff that went on the 18 months before the start of my separation (4 years ago - 2017) but also a few from various lenders in the years prior. I know they stay on your report for 7 years, and I'm looking to see a few start dropping off next year, but my question is on derogs that continued.
For instance, my mortgage company is reporting multiple 90+ days late on my mortgage (it was IIB - house was sold before forclosure). One or two of them are 30+ late and are from 2015, but the vast majority are in the 2017-2018 timeframe (so they're not going anywhere for at least 3-4 more years. But for the one or two that are from 2015, will those drop off, or do they go by the date of the last derog. For example, as my rpeort ages, in 2-3 years, every quarter I'll see a few more drop off, or is it "hey, you have 18 derops - over 3 years - but as soon as the date of the last one hits 7 years, they all go *poof*". I just wasn't sure and wanted to check. I know the BK7 is the main driver, but it just seems odd that it might be a situation where 15-18 baddies just go all at once (and I'm curious to see what that does to my score).
Thanks for any insight.
Each single late will fall off at the 7 yr mark. Some CRA's will do it early without asking. Now if its a string like 30,60,90. The string will fall off at the 30 day late mark. Now if you want it off early you can call TU 6 months early and ask for early exclusion and EX at 3 months. Dont call EQ. They mess things up.
