Experian Credit Alert - Navient Post Discharge

I got a new alert of my Experian credit report and I’m a little confused by it. I was Chapter 7 discharged on 5/6/19. Everything on my credit report looked okay. I added a new card by capital one and credit score increased after the first date.

Today I got a new alert saying there was a change and it’s from Navient and it says this:

NAVIENT has flagged your account as Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Petition.
If you file a bankruptcy, but a judge has not yet ruled that it can proceed, it is known as bankruptcy petitioned. Chapter 7 bankruptcies generally remain on your Credit Report 10 years from the filing date.

I’m confused why this would be added now post discharge. Is this a mistake I should dispute or should I just wait for another update and things are still working itself out? I also have a “late” for June, when I never got a notice for anything that was due.

Current Score: 7/8/10: TU - 738 EQ - 750
Previous Score: 1/22/10: TU - 703 EQ - 714
Goal Score: 750

Little slow to the party? Send a copy of your DC to EX certified mail or fax and explain you've been DC'ed. Being a student loan I take it. Doesnt change anything.  Just a comment.

Shouldn’t the comment like this not be posted after the discharge date?

Re: Experian Credit Alert - Navient Post Discharge

Hi there,

I can answer this one for you as I have gone through it myself. Navient was informed of your bk and it updated your account with the bk petition it has received. After your discharge, give it about 30 days and it will update again and report the balance. The account will go back to normal. In regards to the late payment, you can try to dispute it, if it was after your file date. If it was before your file date, you may want to call and speak with their bk team; they may be able to help out.

Thank you Bobbi - I have already been discharged at the beginning of May, so I think that’s why I’m confused that it just showed up now. Im over 45 days.
