I have received several pre-approval notices for the Mercury Mastercard. Only 5 months since discharge so I don't know if I should risk it. Just got my nRewards from NFCU two months ago. Maybe I should wait a little longer. But I'm wanting to get one more card so I can cancel my Credit One at 11 months.

Well. Since i got bombed by C-19 blast and resorted to BK7 and now DC it popped up on CK and was instantly approved for $2K with a 636 FICO. They pull TU and a benefit to bottom feeder cards is no AF or other shenanigan fees. Of course in this boat the APR is roof high.
Guess it depends on your prior and/or current profile but just sharing this recent result as i also needed another card to round out the rebuild path back to victory.
It's been posted it's a card that was once a Barclay low ender. Dunno. Not much relative info on it even in this forum actually so the choice is yours, and you said that you at least have received several preapproval notices. At this starting line for me everything is a toss up but they did approve me higher than Capital One Premium.
I just got them as my third and most likely final card for the time being. I actually didn't get an invite and used their no reservation code option at first to no avail but tried a couple weeks later and they let me apply...not sure if doing that triggers something in their system if anyone else wants to give that a try. But if you need another rebuild card then I would go for it since it's hard finding $0 annual fee cards and I also think the Mercury card is a cashback card. It's my lowest limit card - only $750 limit. But I've been using my other two for things such as Netflix and YouTube then paying off the subscription before balance due.
My other two cards are Capital One Platinum - 2k and Mission Lane - 1k...both are also no annual fee cards.
I've heard 3 cards and installment loan is good for mortgage approval which is what I'm going for.

Same here. Was scouring for a No AF No hidden, No unattractions card to round things out.
It's said often that CK shows routine marketing offers and don't doubt that's the case but with limited options Mercury MC seemed a likely choice if possible. Just so happen it came up for me and now that's a reasonable beginning was looking for as this slow crawl takes to the driving lane.
@southernblueeyes-Please keep us informed should you decide to make application and your own opinions to any results. Thanks
Same thing came up for me. I got $3k with 1% cash back. I think it's a great card so far. The mobile app makes it easy to manage the card and reward balance.

Congrats! on your own Mercury Card approval. Looks like a viable alternative good card to build with.
Immediately after approval they allow you to set up your online account with them within minutes.
@CreditMagic7 Thank you! Until I can get back in with Cap One and Discover someday, this will do just fine for my needs.
I have the Mercury Rewards master card and it has been a good experience. No annual fee and has 1% cash back redeemable in $10 increments. It is a little slow (2-3 days) to post payments but I am happy with it.
Just to add to the data, I just applied for Mercury through Credit Karma. Today is exactly 2 weeks after discharge (I had no offers from CK yesterday, so 2 weeks seems to be the magic number). They pulled TU. Approved for 3k, no AF, 1% cash back. I've now got my 3 cards for rebuild without having to tie up money on a secured card. I was shocked to see such a generous starting limit for someone fresh out of ch7. I know I don't need that much for rebuild, but it'll be nice having a more reasonable limit so that my 9% isn't tiny (my other cards are a $400 and a $750 limit).

Nice card to add for rebuild in my opinion so good effort trying for it and getting the approval thru too. I was only 7 days post-BK7 DC and was approved for $2K thru CK and already had a CapOne Platinum preapproval day of DC. So those 2 with a surviving card thru the process the Mercury MC approval rounded out the 3 card scenario to begin the journey anew.
Congratulations!
