I applied for their nRewards about 4 or 5 months post discharge and was approved. I had to open a savings account to put the money into and since they would only allow $200 online (transfer or debit. I forget how I funded it) then my SL was only $200. About 3 months later it was increased to $600, though it wasn't actually called a CLI. 3 months later it was converted to the CashRewards with a SL of $2k and my $200 in savings was released. That was about October 2020 and I just requested a CLI of $2k and looked a couple days later and they had given me a $1,500 increase instead. I really love NFCU. I also got a new car loan with them back in March at 3.34%. Of course I also added a checking account with my pay DD going to it. When I got the nRewards, back then my scores were only about 625 across the boards. Just for the record, I had never been a NFCU member so never burned them.
@2b2rich Congrats on you new and growing NFCU relationship . . . Keep watering -and- growing it!!!
Thank you! I appreciate all the help.
I checked the Pacer site last night and saw that I have been DC!! Woohoo!! No alerts from myFICO this am yet, I know there is a little lag, but checked CK and TU still shows filed, but EQ shows DC now! (26 point increase, even though it's a fako lol). So will all TL now update to show CH7 Dishcharged vs petition or does that matter?
Thanks again everyone! EX and EQ have updated to show DC...Just waiting on TU!! Are they typcially the slowest? I want to apply for the secured card with NFCU, but it still shows Filed, and not DC yet....Funny how my Fico 9 scores are quite a bit higher than the 8's...
I guess my question is how do I tell TU to hurry up and update the BK to discharged, or can I?
Patience is amazing. Lol. TU updated this am and we cleared for takeoff! Thank you everyone. I will still be around and if I can help with anything let me know. Y'all are awesome and hoping to never have to do this again.
I did their pre-approval first (which I have read is not accurate) but came back for the secured card. Did how much I wanted to fund it ($300) and hit submit...said it will be processed in 24-28 hours and they will let me know...Is that normal?
When I got the secure card last year someone had to manually approve me. I heard if you have a fresh bankruptcy they usually won't auto approve you for anything.
Sounds good. How long did it take for you? They email or text you?
