Will being an authorized user help me get back in Discovers good graces sooner?

I'm officially one year post-discharge in just a couple days but I still can't get a "real" card. Just no name banks with annual fees. The only "real" card I have is a Capital One Secured.

I burned Discover for about $4k in my BK, and I'm not sure how long it takes to get back in with them. However, my partner just added me as an authorized user to her Discover card. Will this help me get back in with Discover sooner for my own personal card?

No, being an AU will not improve your chances. They eventually forgive, the time table varies.

How long have you had the CapOne Secured card?  If at least six months, you might want to apply for a CapOne Quicksilver.  I suggest this because I was approved for their secured card shortly after my discharge last year and then six months later they approved me for a Quicksilver with a $3,000 limit.

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
