Re: pro se requirements

I was asked for 2 years of tax returns and 3 months of bank statements. I also filed Pro Se and was discharged back in June.

Re: pro se requirements

Thanks for your help. What state did you file in? also i have about $6-$7k in bank and 2 cars worth abouth $5k both. Can i keep the money and the cars in NY? Also $2k of the $7k are kids savings which are in my bank as the main user but it has their social and is kids savings. Is that consider my money or kids?

Re: pro se requirements

I'm not an attorney, but I think the way it's viewed is once it's in the account, its undistinguished....meaning it belongs to anyone listed on the account. You might want to get that cleared up before filing.

Re: pro se requirements

I filed in Texas but it depends on what exemptions you can claim in your state. I did not include my kids statements except for my youngest. The other's were over then age of 18 and the US Trustee told me not to include them (got the accounts when they were younger but they control them now). A search for New York bankruptcy exemptions should yield a few answers. I had to look up a few things for my case but that's part of filing pro se.
