AMEX Blue Business Cash RSVP

Today I received a mailer from AMEX for my 3 month old company with an rsvp code for the Blue Business Cash.

I don't have a business credit card yet, and I'm interested in getting one to more easily separate my business and personal expenses in addition to earning additional rewards.

My EX8 of 646 is lower than I would think AMEX prefers, but I'm pre-qualified for all of their charge cards on the personal side.

I'm more interested in MR points than cash back, but what are my chances for the Blue Business Cash given the rsvp code? Same underwriting for the BBP?

The chances for approval with an RSVP code are considered pretty high.

It is considered about the same as a pre-approval on the website.

Does the offer have a set APR ?

Of course there is always a chance of being declined but this is about as good of an offer as anyone can receive.

You might want to try the prequal business CC tool anyway and see what comes up....https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Business-Credit/New-AmEx-Pre-Qualify-Tool-for-Business-Cards/td-p/5...

Thanks for the information! It's exciting and enticing to hear that they're given similar weight to a preapproval. Unfortunately my rsvp does not come with a set apr, but a range.

The link in the thread you referenced just takes me to a list of the current business card offerings from AMEX. I'm on my phone now, so perhaps I'll try it on my computer a bit later.

I have no inside knowledge but my sense of it is that the underwriting is the same.

I have both cards, and they're both good.

You won't be able to PC from one to the other, so if you're more interested in the BBP perhaps you should either wait, or spring for that one.

In my book, though, the 2% cashback offered by BBC is nothing to sneeze at.

I wasn't aware of the business prequal link until last Tuesday. I have been an Amex MS April 2021, with the Charles Schwab Platinum, Gold, ED card and Amazon Prime Business.

I had no personal card offers except their charge cards.

I was pre-approved for all their business cards, with the exception of the Blue Cash and Hilton card.

I applied for the Plum and Business Gold card and was instantly approved.

The following day, I applied for the Business Gold Delta card and got an instant approval with a $10k CL.

I am still getting pre-approved for the other business cards.

I spoke to an Amex rep before my third business card app, and she said that I could apply for as many cards as I want, both business and personal, as long as I'm approved. She assured me that applying for many cards won't effect my accounts. I found that very strange. Has anyone heard of that before?

The agent isn't likely aware of their internal algorithms, but if we're talking about AmEx revolvers (personal and business), eventually some folks will hit a 'cap'.  Very few go above that (profile-dependent of course). The current 'soft' guidance is usually 5 revolvers regardless of mix. Moreover, as you get approved for additional revolvers, you'll also reach an exposure limit, so potentially one card can still be approved but for $2K (if no reallocations occur), for example.

You can have several charge card in both flavors (I can't recall the limit on those at the moment - @K-in-Boston will know).

Re: AMEX Blue Business Cash RSVP

Unfortunately the business preapproval link doesn't seem to work for me. I simply get a list of available business cards. I really want to get started with business credit. I might wait a month or two and apply for the BBP. The 2% cash back would be great, but I'm more interested in MR points at this stage in the game.

In a month or two, I think I'll apply for one of these:

1) Amex BBP

-easily my first choice, but would be my first AMEX and isn't exactly the card I received the rsvp for.

2) FNBO Evergreen Business

-I'm prequalified on their site, but their preapproval is hit or miss. My DM was rejected after she prequal'd for 15k, with a much more established business than my own and better credit scores.

3) SECU MD Business CB Visa

-3% gas is great for me and would fill a nice hole in my rewards setup for quarters not covered by my CFF or Disco. Also helps that it would be a single pull on EQ. I have so many (6) INQs on EX and I'm not keen to add another until 2 fall off by Jan.

I'm also back under 5/24 by Jan, so ideally it would be great to add a business card before going for a Chase Biz CC at some point next year.

Re: AMEX Blue Business Cash RSVP

I decided to apply for the AmEx Business Lowe's card and Charles Schwab Investor's card, since I have their AmEx Platinum card.

I was flat denied for the Charles Schwab card, and the Lowe's card was pending for review, but, got an approval after ten minutes for a $10k CL.

The reasons for the personal card denial, was - too many new accounts, very short history with AmEx and too many inquiries, (inquiries are only three, two in 2021 and one in 2020).

What I don't understand is how do they approve me for five AmEx cards, (two charge cards, and three revolvers), and declining me for additional personal cards. I have two personal charge cards, and one personal revolver.

When I try the personal card pre-qualification tool, I'm only pre-approved for their charge cards.

I believe the soft/standard limit is still 10 charge cards and 5 revolvers.  With my 6th revolver approval earlier this year (Marriott business) I was actually a bit surprised at the $10k limit with no reallocation as they denied a CLI on Delta Reserve just before that.
