American Express Corporate Card

I recently applied for my corporate card from American Express and seems AMEX went ahead and pulled my credit history. If I am applying the card through my company, why would Amex be pulling my credit history. And I work for 1 of the fortune 100 companies.

Disagree, your corporation is liable for the card if you are just a user on the card.  Makes no sense why they would pull your credit.  Yes you are liable to the company you work for if you misuse it, wouldn't believe Amex.

Re: American Express Corporate Card

Different corporations have different rules. It's not ALWAYS the case that your corporation is liable for the charges. I have one and I work for a Fotune 50 firm, any employee who agrees to get a corporate card is liable for the amount charged against his account.

It could be, but I still can't imagine a HP against your credit for a corporate Amex..  The administrator should just have to add you...  I don't know never had an Amex corporate card, but other company MC/Visa's where I wasn't ever pulled.

From the sound of it, it shouldn't be a HP but unfortunately they do. There are two different sets of corporate cards (At least for us and I don't know how they pick), one is more along the lines of Authorized User (just a SP) and other one that I have. No clue I fell into that bucket but couple of my colleagues got their cards without HP

Can you use the HP to also get a personal Amex card?  Might as well get a benefit to you from it.

Yes, some companies require their employees to pay the credit card bills for their individual company cards and then the company will reimburse expenses. Amex has a special corporate card program.
