Apply for business card under Dad's business?

Would I be able to apply for a business credit card under my Dad's business? He is all for it. Would I put that I'm a sole proprieter and use my social? Or say that I'm and employee? What are my options?

Great question. If you say that you are a sole proprieter, you will not need your Dad's EIN. They will just ask for your social. You can also apply for a business card if you were a partner in the business or you have been given rights to do business (open credit cards, loans, bank accounts, etc) for the business.

While AMEX is pretty easy getting business cards with than most other banks I wouldn't necessarily...not lie but don't put inaccurate information on the app especially if it's not your business. Perhaps as @Anonymous said put on the app you're authorized on behalf of the business as a controller, for example, to get credit for the business but don't say it's yours or that you're a sole proprietor that would be dishonest.

So would I apply under partnership and use my social? Or would I use the EIN?

Re: Apply for business card under Dad's business?

Isn't there a spot on the app for you as a Partner or employee? You could just have youe dad apply and put you down in that position.

You would still be considered an account holder, and get all the benefits associated.

You are looking for trouble. Don't do it.

A business card is for when you have your own business.
