Capital One Spark Travel Elite (new)

Heard about this one over on DoC. Its supposed to be a mirror image of the Venture X reward structure.

10x hotels/car rental (using travel portal)

5x flights (using travel portal)

2x everything else.

10k anniversary miles

Priority Pass/Capital One Lounges

250,000 point welcome bonus if you spend $50,000 in 6 months.

AF of $395 ($300 back though when used for travel purchases)

A couple of caveats:

-Can't apply online yet, only get if you discuss with relationship manager in branch.

-Can't have this card if you also have the 2% Spark Cash Plus (the 2% revolver)

This is much better really than the 2% Spark Cash Plus since its less effective AF and you have the Venture X travel rewards. The 250k points on 50k is worth a minimum of 7% and much more if a high percentage of that spend is on travel.

Re: Capital One Spark Travel Elite (new)

Yeah I'd keep in mind for when it appears publicly because after that the clock might start ticking on the 250k bonus.

You can see that with the Spark 2% Cash Plus which at one time trotted out a $3,000 bonus for 50k over 6 months but now is down to only a $1,000 which in part has influenced my decision to not to apply for this one and apply to the intro APR Spark Cash Select.

Re: Capital One Spark Travel Elite (new)

Looks neat.

I really like the spark business cards from capital one. I've had great experiences with them. I have the 1.5 cash select now and like it.

In the past I've had the tan (fair credit) starter spark card and that still got up to an 8k limit so even though it's for fair credit, it wasn't a bucket card. Cap one told me none of the spark cards are true subprime like their $300 limit platinum cards even though they offer one for building credit and probably limit the max credit on it way more than the others. I'm now up to 20k limit with the 1.5 spark cash select card. They told me every spark card except the tan starter can build up to very high limits. One of the bosses has a spark card that lets him out 100k on it at a time.

When I start traveling more next year I may look into getting this card. Spark has been one of my favorite cards since I got the first tan one
