2nd AMEX App?

How long should I wait before applying for another AMEX? I was thinking of gardening until after the 1 year mark because I am still working on getting my last two collections PFD. With that my Experian score should bump up past 670. I also know that AMEX is big on customer relationships, so I’m not sure what is a significant amount of time for a relationship for them.

I would like to get the AMEX charge for a travel card for upcoming vacations.

Anyone that started off with a $500 or $1k CL and app’d for a second card feel free to share your experience. I’m very interested!

I started with a $500 limit on a BCE card and never once got a CLI on it. My own fault. I almost never used it. Was not the card I wanted but my way into AMEX. A little over 3 months after that I got 2 more cards from them the delta gold business card and the bonvoy business card both with great limits. A month after that I got the business gold card and just yesterday I added the BBP card which with the exception of the business platinum card that I am evaluating now completes all that I want from AMEX. My point is just wait a minumum of 3 months or so and so long as you are doing your part with AMEX they will most likely approve you for what you want using only a SP. Keep an eye on your scores though and those baddies.

I started with a Delta Gold Skymiles with a $1K limit in late January. Approved for a CLI on that card a few days ago to $3K. That same day, I was approved for a Delta Platinum Skymiles with a $1400 limit.
