How do you counter offer? Do they offer you a lower amount by themselves or you say "okay, how about..." 

For me, it's always seed like a binary thing.  You either get something or you're not eligible at all.

They offered a lower amount than the asked for amount.. I clicked the CLI button... Put in the 3x offer and the system came back with a lower number and (I think) it autoaccepted it....

Did it awhile ago and havent hit them up since...

SL was 6000... current limit with the counteroffer CLI is 15600

I've had my BCE (recently upgraded to a BCP) card for nearly 3 years and they have never approved a CLI. My SL was $2,800. I did burn AMEX 10+ years ago but paid it all back as part of the Optima Oasis offer to get back in the door with them in 2016 with the Oasis card.   I have always thought it was because I still had that Oasis card open so I just recently closed it. It has an AF upcoming anyway and a $900 limit so I don't need it anymore.  I'm going to wait 6+ months and try again. Glad to know it's not just me though!!

Just curious ... Have you thought about just getting another card instead of trying to get CLI on current one?

Continued denial for over three years means there is something in your file they don't like, possibly the fact you burnt them. You also have somewhat low scores. 700 average is fine for "getting in" but if you want them to grow they like to see higher scores, or at least some increases over time.

I opened the Blue Cash over a year ago. I have PIF and I have carried a balance. SL was $3900 and I am still at $3900. I have been denied everytime I have tried for a CLI. Frustarting to see so many get the 3X and I cant even get a small bump.

What are your other FICO stats? (Experian)... And what's in your CR?
