I have searched and not really found an answer. I am one year and one month into the AMEX family. I tried 3x 61 day CLI (basically the same credit score) and was denied. I tried again in early February but was denied (recent high Utl that paid down to $0). My delta gold is a $1k SL card and I’ve read they are harder to grow. I’ve never seen another prequalified offer on their cards, and I check frequently just because I like to know.
Fast forward to this week. I have at least 5 cards (Hilton’s, Bonvoy brilliant, etc) that are showing preapproved. I’m not apping at this time because we are focused on a mortgage in a few months.
My question is, is there any correlation between seeing preapproved offers and the potential for a CLI on a current card? Meaning, if Amex is willing to give me another card at this point, is there a chance I might not be denied on the next CLI request when I reach the 91 day mark? Is there a relation between growing a current CL and being preapproved for a new card?

Thanks to you both! That is exactly what I wanted to know. Mostly trying to speculate on my odds for a CLI on my next request. Which, of course, is just speculation. It is nice to finally see prequalified offers on other Amex cards.
