DW got an offer today from AMEX Delta Gold for 60k miles SUB. Problem is it's addressed to her maiden name (changed almost 2 years ago) and doesn't appear to be a true pre-approval, however it does have her SkyMiles number and the link says the offer is good for 60 days. No mention of an approval code or APR. She checked pre-approvals via their website, and no offers there either. She is an AU on my QS and just got a Cap 1 platinum of her own 2 weeks ago which has not yet reported to the bureaus, but the HP has.
As of 4/19 her FICO's are 630 EX (3 inq), 644 TU (2) and 642 EQ (6). Most recent HP was last month, rest of those were from no later than 7/2017.
UTL is 21% across all 3, student loans were late as of 3 months ago but current now and AAoA is between 7-9 years depending on bureau. Income is over 100k.
Even though she's not pre-approved, I've seen people being approved a lot within the last month on here for the gold Delta with similar scores. I don't want to just throw away an HP, but since it looks like these are being approved at a pretty good clip, what do you guys think? We do travel a quite a bit and Delta is a good option for us. I know it would likely be a low SL around 1k, but the 60k SUB is very enticing plus it's a foot in the door with AMEX, so I'm wondering what the odds are she'd get approved.
Thanks.
I was approved today withh a 622 EX score. Only got the 30000 point SUB so if she is still being offered 60 I'd say go for it.
This card seems to be pretty obtainable in terms of scores, i myself just got approved for one today as well(current scores in my sig) and i dont remember my offer, i need to go back and double check, but i'd say go for it.
If she applies and get a 7-10 day letter just be prepared to call recon- theres still a good possibility she will be instantly approved
Amex typically pulls EX.

Thank you! Congrats on your approval. Do you know which report they pulled for yours? Also, what was your SUB and did you apply through Delta’s skymiles site? She already has a skymiles account, but I’m thinking we’ll update the name on that first then give try to apply through that site.
Thanks! They usually exclusively pull Experian from what I've researched. I was worried that they would pull from 2, my EQ is my lowest, while EX/TU are my highest.
I cold apped on Amex's site. I tried the pre-qual multiple times and kept getting the offers of Everyday, Blue Card Everyday, and Green Charge Card. I said to heck with it and just decided to apply and got approved
