AMEX Gold Denial .... AGAIN

Hey everyone,

So I’ve been working towards an Amex for 2 years now with a denial every time I’ve applied which is 5 times.

Most recent denial last month before today it says was due to high revolving balances. Understable considering one card was at 7.3/10k. I paid down that card to 25% which reflected as of yesterday on myFICO.

Applying today I was denied again with the reason I haven’t been an AMEX customer long enough. I have an AMEX Everyday since September.

I called recon and asked for a review, also stating my credit pull is from Dec 1, per the denial letter.

Any insight on if I’ll get approved in recon?

Re: AMEX Gold Denial .... AGAIN

Sorry to hear about the denial.  Amex used the old report for the application.  During the recon, did you ask them to pull a new report?  The recon can swing either way.

However, if you are denied again, give it six months before you apply again.

Yes I did mention the outdated report and asked for a new pull.

Hopefully this goes my way, been a long road from the 400s and a report full of collections lol

Re: AMEX Gold Denial .... AGAIN

Updated less than 24 hours later as a denial again. No new HP. FICO is 40 points higher than the pull but doesnt appear to matter based on reasoning.

At least no HP for the re-review, but the reconsideration request is final.

You could reapply again down the road when things are more optimal profile/score-wise.

Yeah it is what it is.

Said screw it and went for the Cap1 Venture and got $5K approval so that help ease the sting.

Nice app, that should hold you over for 6 months or so, then have another crack to the AMEX card.
