Hi about a year ago after cleaning up my credit (deleted all derogatory info, removed inquiries, paid down balances) I applied for both Chase (freedom and business) and Amex Gold and Classic - I was denied for both because the two capital one credit cards I had at the time had not been open for a year - since then those cards are approaching the two year mark in May. Should I re-aaply at this point and which card should I apply for? Ive seen some great offers for both.. and im considering Amex delta as I travel a lot.. PLEASE HELP
Experian 745, Equifax 756, TU 738 - UTI is 3%
Hi there @Anonymous and Welcome to the forum!
You might post your EX FICO8 score, Utilization Age of accounts and any other info,
then forum members can give you better informed advice.
You might also check the Amex pre qualification web page? and see if they offer anything with a solid APR? (and not a range)
Good Luck!
also check the chase prequalify page as well.
Hi just added scores (745, 756, 738 and uti 3%) - do the pre approvals work? I believe thats where I applied from initially and was denied - some were Credit Karma pre approvals also..
Do the prequalifys actually work? And is Amex still thin file friendly?
the credit karma preapprovals aren't guaranteed.
go directly to the amex and chase prequalify sites.

If you are planning on travelling and flying Delta, I'd go with one of their Delta Amex cards.
With your scores and low utilization, should not be an issue.
I'd go to the Amex prequalify site and see what a SP offers you.
Sometimes the welcome SUB is larger than normally advertised.
I am currently stuck deciding on the Delta Platinum vs Delta Gold as I fly Delta almost all the time and the $200 annual credit from my plain Platinum card is another reason....
ahhh is it easier to downgrade or upgrade?
