AMEX Plat Pre-Qual and AMEX BCP CLI

Happy to report that I logged onto the AMEX site to schedule payments for my Gold and BCP, and saw a pre-qual / invite to apply for Plat! Was a bit concerned, because I had been recently denied the magical 3x CLI on BCP. But, gave it a whirl since it was by invite and don't ya know they messed around and approved me....was quite pleasantly surprised! My question / advice requested is - should I go great guns and try again for the BCP CLI today? And if so, how much? Should I go for 3X or something smaller..? Thoughts?

Always go for the 3X CLI with AMEX. Don't short change yourself and let them decide to grant or at the very least give a counter offer to your request assuming they'll give you one. Just make sure it's been 91 days since your last denial.

Awesome, thanks! Not sure when I last applied for the CLI - I'm thinking it was April, which, if it was before the 25, I'd be good to go today. Do you know if there is a way to find out via their website?

Not that I know of. You could simply contact customer service and ask they should be able to check the last request you made.
