Hi and welcome to the forums, OP! Since you have a considerable amount of inquiries on your report I'd wait to apply until some of those fall off.
Normally with BK youll have to wait at least 5 months & some change before they will let you in if you did not include them into the BK. I got mine around the 5 1/2 mark Blue Cash Preferred $1000 for the last 8 months or so. No CLI due to BK. So they will let you in but no CLI. Feb 2020 they let me in again finally for more cards. 1st card I got around April 2019. As of Feb 2020 I got the Green, Gold & Plat charge cards including the Everyday Blue. All gotten within a 3 week period. My BK falls off Nov 2019. Credit scores on AMEX site for last approvals was about a 684. Lower when I got the 1st card around the 660 range. I have 2 Navy Fed cards, 2 Cap 1 cards, 1 Credit One card and a crappy 1st Premier card. 2 car loans and a mortgage. Hope that helps with some insight. Keep checking Pre Qual site
Hello
i have been rebuilding my credit and looking at getting my first amex card.
curent fico is at 676 for experian. i was pre qualified for the Delta Gold and the Hiltion cards. i do not have any collections on my experian file, however i do have a 8 year old BK. Is there a Best first card for Amex? Other than the delta gold or Hilton Should I just go with them since I was prequalified?? How accurate is the prequalification?
thank
It depends on why type of card you are looking for, ie cashback, airline miles (delta), hotel points, mr's.........
Pre-approvals tend to be solid, but none are a 100% guarantee. Just go for it. Your BK is 8 years old, provided you didn't burn them, chances are good.
+ 1 what was said above. Its exciting, but if you don't have a use for the card don't get it. My first was Delta Gold since I fly Delta. 2 and half months later i got Blue Cash Preferred and Amex Platinum. I have upgraded to Delta Platinum for the slightly better benefits and the companion ticket. Since me and the family buy a lot of groceries I raked in $960 in cash back between gas and groceries. I am sincerely thinking of downgrading my Amex Platinum to Gold for the 4x dinning points. I am also trimming cards I don't use anymore since I have most of what I want and am holding out for Chase Hyatt next year. My scores were similar to yours and I had a preapproval on the checker. I was guilty of the same fresh out of rebuilding but I have come to my senses I guess. Lol. Good luck in whatever you decide.
The best one is the one you'll use the most.

Hello,
what credit score is needed for the delta platinum card? vs the delta gold?
thanks.

Have you checked the Amex Pre-Qual website?
I think EX 680 FICO 8 would be the minimum ... @K-in-Boston could much better advise on this than Me.
Yeah, prequalified for both.
682 Experian Right now, wondering if I need a higher score for the platinum vs the gold

Just a hunch, but I would say if you are prequalified for both .. you are probably good for the Platinum.
Probably same UW standards is My guess.
Good luck!
