AMEX qualification

Any idea how long to wait for an Amex approval with a 30 late on my CR? Would they approve with less than 2 years from last lateness? Experian at 708, TR 712 Eq 690. Util always at 10% or less.

Re: AMEX qualification

Hard to say. Has it been at least 1 year since the late? Any other baddies?

Re: AMEX qualification

Maybe a dumb question, but you've done the prequal right?

Re: AMEX qualification

Is this your first Amex? I got approved for a couple of cards from them with a 30 day late, but it was probably closer to 4-5 years old when I applied. I also had existing Amex cards a couple of which were over 20 years old.

Re: AMEX qualification

What Amex card do you have in mind? I don’t know if it still holds true due to current situations but the Delta Gold used to be the “go to” card for those with limited history or a few dings in their report.

Re: AMEX qualification

This is only my opinion. I personally would not cold app Amex without any sort of pre approval. If you don't even have the co branded cards showing, I would hold off on the app. Again, just my opinion.

Re: AMEX qualification

They approved me for the Delta gold at a 641 EX with 3 lates (newest one was 21 months), 4 chargeoffs, and 6 collections. I've never had a pre-qualified offer.

I'm hoping that'll happen for me once I can get my EX up to 640ish. Were those COs/CAs paid or unpaid?
