Keep getting Amex Delta mailiers to apply. Why would they be sending me these, Im only 2 years post BK filing, 1.8 years discharge. I do have a delta skymiles number so maybe thats why, but do they market any and everybody regardless of BK 7. My EX is 671. If i applied, will it automatically deny due to BK and not HP me?
That is some serious advertising, mailbox and email bombardments weekly, geesh!
ok thanks really appreciate the reply
Did you check Amex's pre qualification page? It will be a HP, but if you're pre-qualified and it's a card you're interested in, in my book I would go for it.
Mailers can be tricky, often they are just advertising to get you to apply, no checking of your credit. Then there are the "pre approved or pre selected" which are often based on the creditor buying a list with people who have the scores they want. Finally, there are genuine pre approved offers, these list specific terms like the APR not a broad range like 13-23%. If it says you are invited to apply or similar you are not pre anything, you're invited to submit an application. Read these mailers carefully and fully, especially the very small print.
I tried checking the prequal page but for some reason it will not let me put my entire address in, strange right. As for the mailers, it just gave me the 50k new member offer instead of the normal 30k. Didnt say pre qualified or preapproved. Think its just an invite to apply, had my FF# on the mailer.
