To the OP, personally I would close Credit One, garden for a few months until my scores were in the ~680 range. Then I would go for a Sallie Mae WMC.

Why do you advise that I close Credit One? Wouldn't this hurt my AAoA and number of accounts in good standing?

Closing it today, leaves it on your credit report for the next 10 years. CreditKarma will show immediate drop in points but that's not how it actually works. (If that was your reference)
