Hello to all the great people of MYFICO forums...
Figured I would share my experience with Alliant to benefit others.
I made my donation and joined.
All smooth sailing.
I then added an external account for funding. In one business day the verifcation deposit was done and I was verified.
My account was placed on restriction. I called in where they requested I verify my identity.
I emailed them 3 documents and my account was immediately un-restricted.
Interestingly enough the day after I opened my accounts I got a pre-approval letter for a car loan.
Now from knowledge I know people are waiting for the quarterly SP offer for the Visa.
I figured what the heck lets roll the dice and see...
It came back denied because of my 1 yr old BK.
So I decided to recon the denial...
Turns out (for future reference of anyone with a BK) the LO was extremely impressed with my rebuild and high CL's with Cap 1/NFCU/Penfed,
Alliant's underwriting wants to see either 1 year of re-established payments and or 2 years post BK.
I was told to re-apply in 1Q of 17' - I am also establishing a Secured Shared Loan so that should help me out with them !
Customer service was excellent as was the LO.
I will be transitioning all of my business to NFCU/PenFed & Alliant.
Appreciate sharing your own Alliant CU experience.
I'll be gathering up some useful details to contribute to this thread just as soon as everything settles down on this end.

Thanks for taking the time! I just signed up with them last month. I also did shared secured loan. It was reported on the 31st of May And showed up on the reports around the 4th of June.
What's the time frame on these quarterly soft pulls?
When is the next one due to hit? Anyone know
Not sure when the next soft pull is since I am not a cardholder YET. However, I do know that they cannot sp thru a freeze unless you are a cardholder. So, if you want a preapproval for your first card with them, EQ cannot be frozen.
IMHO this is a very important time in which to clearly explore your available options with some of these credit unions while they are obviously in open window mode. They seem to have entered another active period for projected set criteria to meet and/or fill their own expected goals and will offer very attractive choices as well as even reach out to some borderline new members.
Credit Unions that deem profiles eligible enough for very reasonable APR rates are a great catalyst and your best chance, after being burdened down with certain high APR cards, to finally replace them with much better rates and in many cases better limits too that help balance out utility rates on your spending compared to the painstaking opposite especially for balance rollers.
Thanks for the info in regards the SP for credit cards...
Do they ask for income verification for credit cards or auto loans?
