AmEx CLI Income Tips?

I currently report my wife and my total income for last year, all her income goes through my accounts and we both spend purely on my credit cards.
Total income was $70k last year.
This year she makes $10k more and I made $10k+ and I am getting $8k in financial aid for university.
I'm thinking of keeping my income at $80k. My current CL is 21k on my EDP. What is the most I can get, I'm fine with an FR.

Re: AmEx CLI Income Tips?

If your acct is young you can decrease your income and still get credit line increases, youre building trust. if everything is on the up and up I think a phone call with the rep might do you better than speculation on here. Just make sure that one you want to increase on has not been increased in 181 days, and you have not got an increase on different accounts in your name.

Re: AmEx CLI Income Tips?

I would just go for 24 if your credit is ideal with them you should consider a second card so you can split purchases for double incentives and discounts on retailers, the offers etc. Since I'm new to American Express I think it's a game to see how much I can double back my annual fee as justification to keep them. I'm going to win!

I wouldn't rock the boat since you are using your wifes income and not your own. Go for an increase to $25,000 and leave it be IMO.

If you want more credit have your wife app for her own card and you go on it as an au.

Though technically depending on OPs state, he can place his wife's income alongside his if he wants to depend on it to repay the debt..

As long as it is a reasonable request, you should be fine as we don't know your spending.  Clearly, you can't do 3xCLI as that brings you to $63,000 and I highly doubt you will get approved for it.

If you use the card alot, then I will say you should shoot for a CLI of 9k to bring your existing line to $30,000.  Keep us posted on results.
