Amazon CC Denial Question -

I am about 3 months shy of my ch 7 bk discharge being 2 years old. I decided to apply for the Amazon card and the denial letter stated declined due to my bk. I assume if any of the accounts included in the bk were also the decline reason it would have stated that in the letter.

So, I was going to reapply when my discharge is over two years old, maybe like in June of 2022 and hope then I don't get declined for the prior accounts that were charged off. I assume I won't.

Which Amazon card? Synchrony might approve you depending if they were included and how much. Chase will blacklist you for 10 years and Amex blacklists for 5 years and 1 month.

Re: Amazon CC Denial Question -

Just the Amazon regular card. They were IIB, multiple cards and a lot of money prob north of 15k. I thought they would for sure decline me for their cards being included in my bk, but I was shocked to see it was the bk itself and not my prior tarnished relationship with them that was the single decline reason. I am thinking they might want two years post discharge to approve, guessing here

I think Amex has a lot longer memory than 5 years and 1 month  Smiley Happy

It appears it was worded incorrectly by the poster.

Yes, AENB has a very long memory and their blacklist can linger for decades. I believe what was implied was that AENB has a 5-year + 1 month restriction for any post-BK profiles where AENB was not IIB.
