Hey all,
I was just recently declined for the Amazon Prime VS card for one specific reason:
* Too many requests for credit or opened accounts with us
Within the last 3 weeks I was approved for and received a Sapphire Preferred and a Freedom Unlimited. I wasn't even paying attention when I applied for the Prime VS and the fact it comes from Chase.
Am I correct in thinking that the denial was simply because of their 2/30 rule? My FICO hovers around 720, but I have 6-8 HPs in the two years. I was hoping to apply again in a month or so if that was the only likely reason.
The Chase Amazon card is not subject to the 5/24 rule. There have been people that are 30/24 that have been approved for the card. As for 3 Chase products in a short period of time, that very well could be the case as many have stated that 2 in 30 days like you said is the max you can acquire. If that's the case, as soon as 30 days passes in theory you could scoop up the Amazon.
Yeah I think I mostly jumped the gun with the Amazon, it does seem rather easy to lock down otherwise. And that 5% ain't bad
Yup. No reason you can't try again in the near future!

I think you are right, the Chase approvals was probably the reason for the decline.
