Amazon Store Card CLI ?

Hello all,

Is the CLI for Amazon Store Card a hard or soft pull? I keep finding conflicting info. Thanks

Re: Amazon Store Card CLI ?

depends on how long you've had the account and if they have a decent file on you. If you're concerned, call CS and ask. Its hard to say otherwise definitively. Hope this helped.

Its a soft pull! Best results are usually every 4 statements! Good luck.

Re: Amazon Store Card CLI ?

I called and they confirmed it as a soft pull. So I went ahead and went through with it over the phone. They told me I was at the max I could receive which is 2200$. This doesnt make any sense to me since Synchrony gave me 5000$ on my Sony SC and even Discover moved my limit up to 4500$ from 2000$ a couple of days ago -_-.

Different cards, even from the same lender, have different UW standards.    FWIW, Amazon was my slowest growing SyncB card.

Generally, the SyncB retail cards are SP CLIs.   Their special financing products (Care Credit, Sony, furniture stores, etc.) tend to be HP CLIs with few exceptions.

Re: Amazon Store Card CLI ?

Any chance they'd approve CLI for newer card owners? Mine's verging on that fourth statement.

So I'll bump this somewhat old thread with the unanswered question instead of starting a new one.

I opened an Amazon store card account less than a month ago, received a $2200 starting CL. That's not enough as I spend between $1,000 - $1,500 on Amazon each month so I would be pushing util a little too high unless I make multiple payments during the month.

Hit the LUV button but got no love. Used the online chat, they told me to call CS.

Called CS and told them my problem, namely I would have to cut my Amazon spending or make inconvenient multiple payments.

The rep asked what line I was looking for - I asked for $4500 which would give me the cushion I need, he asked for my income, and said he needed to pull my credit report which is when I yelled "STOP", "I do not want a hard pull!".

The rep said not to worry, it was a soft pull.

A minute later he came back with a "Congratulations, your credit line has been increased to $4500."

So the short answer is that yes they will do a CLI for a new account. Granted I have a decent credit report, all three above 750, and a decent income >$200k, but still they gave a CLI to a brand new account.
