if it were me i would wait til you generate a fico score
I agree. I would wait. I was only just approved after applying three times this year. I took a chance and applied because my TU score went up significantly and the prior two times I applied, they pulled TU. Wouldn't ya know it...this time they pulled Experian, which has always been my lowest score, even lower than what TU was the last two times I applied. For some reason they approved me for both the Visa ($1500 CL) and the store card ($1200). I'm disappointed with the Visa CL. It's my lowest now, but hopefully they will give me a CLI in due time.
That said, I thought there was more rhyme and reason to Amazon, but given my recent approval after they pulled my lowest score after denying me twice before with a higher score, I think wait it out and get the card on one score pull instead of three like me. I will mention the big upside is I got two Amazon gift certificates: one for $60 for applying for one card and one for $70 for applying for the other card. Whoo!
Good Luck!
When I applied for an Amazon store card, I did so with three bad charged-off accounts (less than three years old) on my account, and a C1 Platinum Secured card with a $500 limit, Fako scores sitting around 620. They instantly approved me for $600 (granted a CLI request to $2k about a year later).
I didn't bother applying for the Visa, since Chase was one of the banks I burned.
