If I may share something else that is giving me a bit of optimism...
I found this webpage... https://www.uponarriving.com/chase-reconsideration-line
It states that getting the "next 30 days" message is not necessarily a bad thing.
It provides the phone number of 800.432.3117, to check automated application status.
It also states that if the automated system advises that notification will be in about two weeks, that almost always means approval. When I called the automated number, I do get the message of being notified in about two weeks.
The webpage states that if we are provided with the 7 to 10 day message, that almost always means a denial. This is not the message that I received.
I am not sure how accurate this info is, however if it is accurate, it gives me a bit of optimism. I am not really all that concerned about whether or not I get the Amazon Card, but big picture it would feel kind of good to know that I am back in the door with Chase after doing the Settlement with them about a decade ago. I know with their memory of an elephant, I was not expecting to ever be in the door with them again.
Sincerely appreciate all the great opinions and advice I am getting here!
7-10 days is not necessarily a denial either. It may be verification is needed
Update to what I wrote above...
The exactly wording when I call the automated application status line is, "you will be notified of our decision in about two weeks".
It does not say anthing about 7 to 10 days.
Opinions?
At the current stage of what the automated line has yielded, it seems to be on the right path. Let's see how it plays out since the guidance you referenced is not exact science, but covers a majority of scenarios. I'm sure it'll be a good outcome.

Thank you, @FinStar Based on this appearing to be on a favorable path, would it be your recommendation that I just let it take its current path, or should I call the Reconsideration Line to discuss?
Thanks again to all!

I suggest you leave it alone, at least for now.
Someone liked what they saw but it needs a final signoff. If it goes to a 7-10 day message go ahead call in during East Coast weekday business hours, otherwise sit tight.

Normally, I'd say don't call, let the process play itself
However, there are two possibilities here, one is that's is just identity verification, and the other one that it requires review by analyst due to previous relationship.
Since you might need to nudge them a bit, I'd call when they are open.
If you've never done a chase recon, it's kinda like inquisition, you only get one shot, so play the script in your head before you call (they really aren't dummies, so honesty might work the best).
I'm going to move your thread to applications, and I really hope to see an approval thread from you!
@EW800, I would say go with what you feel is best. Some folks like to get things out of the way while others prefer to let it play out. It's up to you if you want to reach out to them and see if your application can be nudged a bit just like @Remedios mentioned above. Let us know the outcome either way.

I love your comment of, "have absolutely no problem reminding you of it". I sure agree with that!
Lol No kidding!
To those that may have been following this thread, I would just like to provide an update...
For those that said that it sounds positive as far as the response that I may get from Chase, you were correct! I received a phone call from Chase this morning, basically just wanting to confirm my ID. Once I did that, the rep stated that my application has been approved and that I would have a $6K starting credit limit!
Needless to say, I was very pleased. Whether or not I got the Amazon Visa Card was not that big of a deal to me, however after being on Chase's Naughty List for the last ten years (as mentioned at the beginning of this thread, I had to do a "settlement" with them and they ate about $10K), and knowing that for a lot of people that is a life sentence, I was not optimistic that I would ever get back in the door with them. The $6K starting limit is on low end of my profile, however quite frankly much more than I was expecting since I had the issue with them ten years ago. It appears that at times, Chase will allow people back in the door!
I would like to thank everyone here who offered the great feedback, advice and encouragement!
Thanks!
@EW800 congrats on your approval!
Feel free to start an approval thread in the Approvals forum if you wish to do so.
