Is Amazon reward visa card is on 5/24 rules? Does anyone have been approve for amazon visa with five or more cards?
Current DPs seem to suggest that Amazon isn’t part of 5/24 but the general consensus is that it will be soon. Chase seems to be rolling it out to all of their cards.
Hi,
I applied and got an Amazon Prime and Amazon Visa card after having opened five other cards in the same year: three were revolving credit and two were retail cards. I was approved for both Amazon cards in October. $1500 limit for the Visa and $1200 for the store card. I had tried a couple other times this year as well only to be denied. I am in building mode and had no idea about the 5/24 rule until recently. Hope this helps.
I think as of mid-November all cards issued by Chase are subject to 5/24 even starbucks lol.
Proceed at your own risk.
I believe it is. But I read somewhere (i can find the lonk if interested) thta pure store cards like a target red card do not count towards the 5/24.
edit; never mind, I was wrong about this
I had 5 cards, one of the cards Iam a authorize user. I canceled the authorize user card today.
I plan to apply for amazon visa on Dec28 ,
Does it will make any difference when I apply? does the canceled card count on 5/24 ?
think all chase cards are under the 5/24 rule now although amazon havent seen any dp's on personally.
I haven't seen any concrete data about the Amazon card but every other Chase card has been put under 5/24. I doubt they would exclude only one card at this point. So I would assume it's under 5/24.

I tend to agree with this. Although, Amazon wields a huge sword. Mr. Bezos may not appreciate customers not getting credit with a lil rule like 5/24.

As has been debated many times on this forum whenever 5/24 is discussed, I think generally it impacts far fewer general consumers than we act like it does. Most people do not apply for many cards, and those who do have been obviously judged by Chase to be unprofitable. If Chase presented their analysts on this to the various cobrand partners, I doubt the partners would argue, and ultimately Chase is the one who backs the card.
Most people who want an Amazon card in the general population won't be excluded for 5/24. Yes it sucks for us who chase after rewards but we aren't the ideal customer and we are largely unprofitable so I doubt Chase or Amazon cares.
