American Airlines Card- Dad apply alone or with me?

Hi everyone! My dad is going to apply for the American Airlines card. He has excellent credit! Unfortunately,  I don't due to a Covid job loss, but I'm working on it! Has anyone had experience applying with someone with great credit? Wondering if I should have him apply and put me down as an authorized user or if we should apply together? I would love to hear your experience if you were in the same situation. Also, have any links with a larger bonus than 50K miles? Thanks in advance!

Since you didn't give us any of your DP's, based on your post a while back that "Covid Tanked your credit" and you owed a lot of money to credit cards lenders and didn't have a job and still don't. Then no way you need to Co-Apply. Let him add you as an AU if he will. Good luck.

Thanks, that's what I figured. His score is high, near 800, but didn't think I could apply with him since my scores are s**t.

Path of least resistance at this point is for him to apply then add you as an authorized user.

Correct only method of getting anything of use is allowing him to add you as an AU.  From the sound of it you want him to cosign for your type of situation which won't fly
