On July 2nd I was proved for the platinum card with a score of 666. The app brought my score down to 649 which I should have been prepared for but I turned around and applied for the blue cash and was denied.
My Experian is now sitting at a healthy 733 way higher than it was when I got approved and I'm wondering what anyone thinks my chances are of getting a second. Tomorrow will be the 31st day since I was declined and you have to wait 30 days from the declination in order to apply for anything. Any thoughts from the American Express experts would be appreciated
What was the denial reason(s) for the Blue Cash app? If those were addressed then you have a good chance to get approved the second go around. I think I would give it a little more time to be sure but that is just me. I would just make sure the FICO 08 EX score they currently have for you matches the 733 you have right now
To check that from the main dashboard online: Account Services -> Profile. From there on the bottom after all your info you should see "View FICO Score". Click that and that there is what they will base their decision on most of the time especially if it is going to be a SP for the app. What some people have done is see their EX score improve and did not wait for AMEX to update the scores on their end. They only find out when they receive the denial letter showing the older score being used and not the improved score

Since Amex usually bases subsequent card applications on a soft pull, you should check the score and date of your EX FICO 8 on the site. If it's 733 there, then I would say you're good to go.
Thank you. But as far as I can tell the score on Amex dash is a vantage score. You have to call in to get the score they used to deny you.
I called and my score is from July 2. That app says still in progress so the computer has me locked in 30 day limbo.
On hold with them right now.

They also provide your EX FICO 8.

Yeah, I gave the steps in my post but I guess either he didn't check or just saw the first "check your score here" link that's at the main dashboard

No, the FICO score is there too. Account Services > Profile > View FICO Score
My Experian score on the Experian app has updated, but hasnt yet on the Amex app, do i need to wait for it to update there too or would they have the current numbers Fico8/Bankcard ? Last check was July 12th.
My account is 91 days on 8/5, my 3rd statement cuts on 8/7.

Wait for Amex to update the score they show you. Then you'll know they've done their monthly SP and will have your most up to date score.
Today is Aug 3. I looked up my Amex FICO score just now and it's dated July 22, so about 10 days behind.
