Hey guys,
Just applied for the Amex Delta Gold.
I got this message after application:
"Thanks, Francis. Can we speak to you on the phone?
Please call us to talk to a Customer Care representative who will provide you with a decision.
If we don't hear from you, we'll try to contact you within 2 to 3 days using the number you just provided in your application."
After I called, I was told by the representative that I will be receiving a letter within a few days and to follow instructions? Has anyone had this before? Advice please!
Also when I check status online it gives me the option to input my skymiles number but everytime I type it in, it says its invalid...
Thanks!
Yes I called,
They told me they were sending a letter and to respond. I think I might need to send in documentation? Not sure...
Also application status online did ask for social and dob, but then asked for skymiles number.... which keeps saying invalid when i type it in... very odd.
Definately verification. Also, if you did not input your skymiles number when you were processing the application then the system probably auto generated a new number for you, which could be the reason it's not taking your number now.

So if this is verification, is anyone familiar with the content of the letter I’m going to get?
What’s chance this should be an approval?
Thanks!
Also, i’m in vacation in Philippines now so won’t be able to get the letter for 2 weeks...
They could ask you to mail, fax or email proof of identity and proof of address. Driver's license and utility bill is usually sufficient.
Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Once I called, I was told that I'll receive letter. The letter stated denied due to excessive credit obligations. Hope you have better results than I had!

If you applied from overseas that probably contributed to the verification. We've also seen extra verification when people use overseas VPNs to submit an application (and sometimes they do even for state-side VPNs).
More than likely they just want to make sure you can actually get mail (i.e. live) at your address. I wouldn't be too concerned.
