Hi everyone, long time lurker in need of some advice. I have an Amex BCP card for the past 3 yrs with a SL of $10k. I recently attempted a CLI through their site. I got a msg that my application was forwarded and I would recieve a written response in 7-10 days. I assume this is a denial. I have a zero balance with Amex and my overall Credit Ulitilization is about 29%. My annual income is 145k but I do have an erroneous collection account reporting for $875 which does not belong to me. I have been disputing this collection account for the past few months with no success. I've never had any late payments ever. I was thinking of calling Amex tomorrow and pleade my case about the collection, any adive would be greatly appreciated. cheers

I would wait for the letter and find out the reasons for denial.
Waiting the few days to find out exactly what they are seeing may help you out when you do call if you go that route.
Good luck.
+1. I would wait for the documentation prior to doing anything else. Also, on the incorrect collections, have you filed a dispute with all 3 CRAs to see if it can be removed? That may also be having a negative impact on your credit and limiting what a lender may be comfortable with. Also you stated that your current balance is at 29%? If so, you're hitting 2 thresholds of UTI. I would definitely try to bring your balance down under 8% to help maximize your scores.
I have disputed with all with CRA and submitted a debt validation request with the Collection Agency with no success yet.

Can you provide more information on what the collection is about? Is it under someone with a similar name or ?
I've moved the posts regarding the erroneous collection account to a new thread in 'General Credit' so that @Anonymous can get more help with that issue.
The other thread can be found here: https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/General-Credit-Topics/Need-Help-with-Erroneous-Collection-Account/m-p/5491392
thank you
