Earlier today I unfroze all my CR and went to the amex prequal page and was prequal for: Platinum, Gold, Green, Everyday, and Blue cash. I had burned Amex for $1,200 in a 2015 CO. I was wondering how accurate the prequal is. I have heard from some that it is fairly accurate. I know aprox 6 months ago I would get a pop up that said they couldn't offer anything due to previous account history. Sounds like I'm off the blacklist but wondering if I should just pull the trigger for science.
Following I am curious
Generally their prequals are pretty reliable. If you get an approval, it's likely you'll get a low starting limit. This wouldn't be a big deal to me if I wanted back in with Amex as with good behaviour and usage they can be very generous. Best of luck!

Yeah I would, but not for the charge cards.
Did you burn them and pay them back?
If not, I find it really hard that they're going to allow you back in without settling the debt.
AMEX has a very long memeory.
There's only one way to find out for sure.
Per Amex: Check with confidence: there is no impact to your credit score when you check for Pre-Qualified offers unless you submit an application.
@H4LOI did not pay them back on the $1200 that's why I was so surprised
@Jeffster1For Science! Lol. Ive also heard that if I'm still on the black list that if I pull the trigger, they won't HP me I will just get a denial before it gets that far.

Only giving a pre-approved status means they pulled your Experian report but didn't look at it internally, you won't know until you pull the trigger, then they do an internal match on your SSN to see if there is any content.
