Amex Blacklist?

So, If I paid Amex Delta Gold back 100% in a chapter 13, will I still be blacklisted? Do I still need to wait 5 years and 1 month?

Hi @Anonymous, welcome to the forums!

Is the BK still on your CRs?  Or, has it been officially removed?

Still there for 3 more years. Paid them back though... should be worth something

Hi and welcome to MyFICO

I say you have nothing to lose by calling and asking. My motto: They may say "no deal;" but what if they say "yes, deal!"

So, when was your BK CH13 discharged and when did you pay AmX back in full?

|| AmX Cash Magnet $40.5K || NFCU CashRewards $30K || Discover IT $24.7K || Macys $24.2K || NFCU CLOC $15K || NFCU Platinum $15K || CitiCostco $12.7K || Chase FU $12.7K || Apple Card $7K || BOA CashRewards $6K

Re: Amex Blacklist?

It took me almost 18 years to get back into AmEx's graces. I was on the hook for $100K corporate, $80k green, and $50K gold in 2001.

Lost everything. I mean everything. Your journey may seem a little delayed, but your destination will be reached.

Creditinspired is correct. It does not hurt to ask. You never know. If you get the right CS person, they will tell you how and when you can come back.  When you do get back with them, they will still consider you a member since the first day you joined.

My cards say, "Member since 99". They don't forget.

Re: Amex Blacklist?

It’s been 25 years since my BR and I am still blacklisted. Last time I spoke with Amex they said “we can’t tell you to pay us back, but if you do we may consider reinstating you”. It was $30k. A friend who worked for corporate Amex said that depending on what State you filed in, you might be permanently blacklisted. Sounds like I probably need to just put Amex behind me.

I luv that “Member Since” even if date isnt backdated on the CRs.

Before I joined MyFICO, it never even dawned on me that I could even get another AmX card. I filed BK in 1976. I dont know how much I burned AmX for, but I cant imagine it being more than $1K since I really wasnt earning that much back then.

Well, last year I was instantly approved for $15K and when the card came, it said “Member Since 1976.”  Wow, 42 years!

Yes OP, eventually, AmX does forgive.
