Amex CLI?

I am planning to book a trip in the next couple of days and I read that the Amex had great prices on their travel site. I couldn't find the prg 50k offer I previously had anywhere and I already wanted the Delta Amex so I applied last night and was approved (yay!) with a 1k limit. I got on chat to ask a rep if I could still book through Amex travel and pay part of it with a non Amex card since my limit would not cover it. He recommended calling the credit limit increase dept and gave me their direct number. Is this a good idea since I just got approved?

Wait 61 days and try for the CLI then.  If you try now you'll just be denied and told that you tried too early.

As for Amex travel, you won't find it to be any cheaper than booking it elsewhere.

Re: Amex CLI?

Congrats on the approval OP!

With respect to AMEX CLIs, I highly recommend reading through this thread (if you haven't already): http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Applications/The-Definitive-Amex-3X-CLI-Guide/td-p/18110...

As another poster stated, it is HIGHLY unlikely that you will get a CLI before 61 days of your account being open.
