I just recieved my new Amex ED card today. I've read several post about people getting CLI at activation. So I gave it a shot....7-10 day message. My current limit is $1,500. I asked for $10,000. Not that I need the whole 10k right now I just figured maybe they might counter at like 5k. Anyway I called and was told it was pending and with underwriting dept. That I should have an answer within 48 hours. Anyone else experience this and at least get a counter offer? Are they even able to counter if it wasnt instantly countered while I was at my computer? Thanks in advance

7-10 days message can be hit it or miss but realistically the most you'll get is $4.5K if approved.. Yes they can counter.
Generally speaking it's an uphill battle to get a CLI right away when Amex issues a low starting line.

My last CLI was an instant counter.
according wealth of info on forum about Amex cli's usually 3x is the standard as Irish80 has stated...Good Luck & Welcome 2 the family !!!!!!!
